In December last year, the prices in Turkey increased by an average of 13.6% compared to November 2021 and by 36.1% compared to December of 2020, Report informs, citing the Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI).

Thus, the annual inflation in the country broke the record set in September 2002.

Over the past year, the lowest price rise in Turkey was recorded in the field of communications - 8.8%. In the field of education, the annual inflation was 17.2%. During the year, alcohol and tobacco prices rose by an average of 20%, clothing and footwear by 20.1%, soft drinks and food by 43.8%, household goods by 40.95% and transport services by 53.7%.

As for monthly price hikes, communication services rose by 3.65%, education services by 0.1%, soft drinks and food by 16%, household goods by 16.5% and transport services by 28.5%.
