"In Azerbaijan, the limit of unencoded payments with contactless plastic cards has been doubled," Erdem Chakar, MasterCard's manager for Azerbaijan, told Report at an online press conference.
According to Chakar, during the pandemic, this figure was 100 manat, as agreed with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and commercial banks.
"A contactless card user can also pay 1,000 azn without contact. But in this case, you need to dial a password for an amount of more than 100 manats. I want to note that the current indicator is higher than the current figure in Turkey," he said.
