Central Bank sees 13% growth in assets

As of January 1, 2021, the assets of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) stood at AZN 25,485.97 million, up 12.65% from the previous year.
In the structure of the CBA assets, AZN 18,579.674 million was debt securities (6.2% more than the previous year), AZN 5,615.273 million – money and equivalent to them (+30.3%), AZN 375.543 million – SDR (+4.3%), and AZN 399 million loans given to banks (+47.8%).
In 2020, the bank’s liabilities surged 19% to AZN 23,864.058 million, banknotes and coins in the circulation went up 13.8% to AZN 11,839.664 million, short-term deposits of the resident banks slipped 11.8% to AZN 2,713.336 million, liabilities to government bodies soared 80% to AZN 4,921.318 million, liabilities to the credit institutions increased by 17.8% to AZN 3,204.953 million, net worth dropped 37% to AZN 1,621.912 million.
