Azerbaijan's securities market turnover falls 32.1% in H1

Trading volume on Azerbaijan's securities market totaled 25.02 billion manats ($25.02 billion) in the first half of 2026, down 32.1% compared with the same period last year, according to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

Transactions on the primary market reached 2.5 billion manats ($1.47 billion), marking an 18.1% year-on-year decline, while turnover on the secondary market fell 33.4% to 22.5 billion manats ($13.2 billion).

Despite the drop in trading volume, market activity increased significantly in terms of the number of transactions.

A total of 36,177 transactions were recorded during the reporting period, representing a 2.3-fold increase compared with the first half of 2025. Of these, 23,486 transactions were completed on the primary market, up 15.7 times year-on-year, while 12,691 transactions took place on the secondary market, a 12% decline from the previous year.
