Azerbaijan aims to expand $16B cooperation portfolio with IFIs

Azerbaijan intends to expand its cooperation portfolio with international financial institutions (IFIs), which currently stands at $16 billion, Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev said at the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2026) in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, active cooperation is ongoing with virtually all leading financial institutions, including the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, and many other entities: "Azerbaijan's total cooperation portfolio with these organizations exceeds $16 billion."

Babayev noted that involving IFIs in major projects in Azerbaijan "will create a solid foundation for applying top expertise, advanced technologies, and higher-quality strategic planning."
