Volume of transit oil via BTC increases by over 36%

In January-July this year, 20,935,300 tons of oil were transported via Azerbaijan's main oil pipelines, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee that this is 2.8% more than in the same period last year.

Within seven months, 79.1% of transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline.

During the reporting month, 16,559,000 tons of oil were transported through the BTC, 8.6% more than in the first three months of 2021.

At the same time, 2,614,400 tons of transit oil were transported via the BTC pipeline, which is 36.3% more than in the first three months of 2021.

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly oil from Azerbaijan from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, are transported through the BTC.

Shareholders of BTC Co: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); MOL (8.9%); Equinor (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%), ITOCHU (3.4%); INPEX (2.5%), ExxonMobil (2.5%) and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36%).
