Tajikistan introduces mandatory use of solar energy in buildings

The Committee on Architecture and Construction of Tajikistan approved the decision on the mandatory use of solar electrical systems in the construction and reconstruction of buildings from April 1 of this year.

Report informs with reference to Asia Plus that from now on, in addition to the regular electrical network, buildings must be equipped with solar panels with the ability to store energy for nights.

"The order covers various types of buildings including educational, medical, cultural, tourist, administrative, public, sports complexes, residential buildings, manufacturing enterprises, shopping and service centers, catering outlets and even amusement parks, roads and streets," the publication writes.

Government authorities will monitor compliance with this law when considering projects, as well as during the construction and acceptance of buildings into operation. Measures will also be taken to regulate prices for materials and equipment for solar energy systems.

"This step was made as part of the Green Economy development strategy and the construction industry development strategy until 2030," the statement said.
