STAR refinery increases aviation fuel production by nearly 33%

In January-February 2025, the STAR Oil Refinery, an asset of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye, produced more than 163,536 tons of jet fuel (aviation fuel), Report informs, citing the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
This amount is 15,859 tons or 8.8% less compared to January-February 2024.
In February, STAR Oil Refinery produced more than 100,604 tons of jet fuel (aviation fuel), which is 24,706 tons or 32.6% more compared to the same month of 2024.
Overall, in January-February 2025, oil refineries in Türkiye produced more than 854,119 tons of jet fuel (aviation fuel), which is 12,847 tons or 1.5% more compared to the same period of 2024. In February, oil refineries in Türkiye produced more than 415,152 tons of jet fuel (aviation fuel), which is 39,340 tons or 8.7% less compared to February 2024.
STAR was opened on October 19, 2018. The foundation of the plant was laid on October 5, 2011. From September 2019, the plant began operating at full capacity. The plant has an annual crude oil processing capacity of 13 million tons. The facility can process Urals, Azeri Light and Kirkuk oil types. Its main products are diesel fuel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel, naphtha (1.6 million tons), liquefied petroleum gas, mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.
