Qatari companies may participate in renewable energy auctions in Azerbaijan 

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has received the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Azerbaijan Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hinzab, Report informs, citing the ministry.

The meeting focused on the prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the energy sector and opportunities for future cooperation. The Ambassador expressed congratulations on the completion of the Southern Gas Corridor project and the start of transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, emphasizing the project's contribution to Europe's energy security.

They noted the vital role of natural gas as a transition fuel, given the fact that natural gas emits less carbon into the atmosphere. Opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in renewable energy and energy efficiency were discussed. The sides stressed the importance of taking steps to attract private and foreign investment in the development of the energy sector and encouraging Qatari companies to participate in future auctions on renewable energy in our country.
