Russian President Vladimir Putin decreed the rules of gas trade with unfriendly countries.
Report informs citing Russian media that he spoke about this when opening a meeting on the situation in the aviation industry.
According to him, Western countries unfriendly to Russia will have to open ruble accounts in Russian banks to pay for purchased gas.
“We are offering contractors from such [unfriendly to Russia] countries a clear and transparent scheme: in order to purchase Russian natural gas, they must open ruble accounts in Russian banks. The payment for gas from April 1 will be made via these bank accounts," Putin said.
