Kyrgyzstan may face shortage of fuel and lubricants in 20 days

Kazakhstan does not allow fuel and lubricants to enter Kyrgyzstan, and therefore, in 20 days there may be a shortage of them in the country, the Oil Traders Association of Kyrgyzstan (OTAK) said, Report informs via Kyrgyz media.

The OTAK believes that this issue should be resolved at the intergovernmental level.

Oil traders note that they are extremely concerned about the situation related to the transit of fuel and lubricants by rail through Kazakhstan. From September 1, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Railways), for unknown reasons and without official notification, stopped coordinating monthly transportation plans, as well as additional plans for the transportation of transit cargo of fuel and lubricants.

"Domestic oil traders, together with Kyrgyz Temir Zholy, are trying to solve the problem on their own, but today almost all announced plans for October have been rejected by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy," the statement says.

Kyrgyzstan receives the lion's share of its fuel and lubricants from Russia in transit through Kazakhstan.
