Italy tops charts in Azerbaijani gas imports in early 2025

Italy became the leader among the buyer countries of Azerbaijani gas in January-February 2025, accounting for 38.7% of the total volume of gas exports from Azerbaijan, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 4.187 billion cubic meters of gas (an increase of 5.9%) for $1.550 billion (an increase of 6.2%).

Supplies were carried out to six countries - Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Türkiye and Georgia.

The top 3 in terms of purchases of Azerbaijani gas during the reporting period included Italy, Türkiye and Georgia. At the same time, Italy became the leader in terms of purchase volumes, having imported 1.621 billion cubic meters (an increase of 1.4%) for $832.821 million (an increase of 14.5%). Türkiye took second place with a share of 37.5%.

In January-February 2025, this country received 1.568 billion cubic meters (an increase of 2.3%) for $445.813 million (a decrease of 10.8%). Georgia took third place among the countries-buyers of Azerbaijani gas with a share of 13.2%. During the reporting period, 552.260 million cubic meters of gas were delivered to Georgia (an increase of 1.9 times) for $72.764 million (an increase of 1.5 times).
