Damaged section of Druzhba oil pipeline replaced in Poland

Polish workers have replaced a damaged section of the Druzhba pipeline, which supplies oil to Germany, Report informs referring to TASS that cites the operator of the Polish section PERN on the X social network (formerly Twitter).

“PERN services worked all night. We completed the installation of a new pipe fragment and began welding it,” the company said in a statement.

Earlier it was reported that the resumption of oil pumping through the damaged section of the pipeline is expected on August 8.

On August 5, one of the two branches of the Druzhba oil pipeline in the direction of Germany was blocked due to a leak in Poland. According to PERN, the second branch is functioning normally, there is no threat to the life and health of local residents. The reasons for the depressurization are being clarified, but PERN has already stated that the involvement of a third party in the breakdown is excluded.
