The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, a crucial artery for Caspian oil transport, has experienced a slight downturn in oil transit volumes through Türkiye in the first five months of 2024, Report informs, citing Türkiye’s BOTAS Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS).
Thus, the BTC pipeline transported 91.236 million barrels of oil through Türkiye from January through May 2024.
This figure represents a decrease of 2.879 million barrels, or 3.06%, compared to the same period in 2023.
The BTC pipeline primarily transports oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field and condensate extracted from the Shah Deniz field. Additionally, it handles other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan
