Azerbaijan's oil and gas production remains robust in 2024

Azerbaijan is set to maintain its strong position in the global energy market in 2024.

According to Kamal Abbasov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, the country's oil production will reach approximately 30 million tons, while gas output will hit an impressive 48 billion cubic meters this year.

Report informs that speaking at the Baku Energy Forum, Abbasov revealed that Azerbaijan's oil production in 2023 stood at 30 million tons, of which 25 million tons were exported. The nation's oil output is expected to remain at the same level in 2024, showcasing Azerbaijan's consistent performance in the energy sector.

Azerbaijan's gas production in 2024 is projected to reach 48 billion cubic meters, matching the figures from the previous year.

Abbasov highlighted that gas exports to Europe amounted to approximately 12 billion cubic meters, while Türkiye received 9.5 billion cubic meters.

Furthermore, the deputy minister said the first gas from the deep-lying layers of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields is expected to be extracted next year.
