Azerbaijan, Jordan discuss energy cooperation

A meeting was held between Energy Minister of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov and a delegation led by Mazen Torki Saud Al-Qadi, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The ministry told Report that the meeting emphasized that Azerbaijan-Jordan relations, based on friendship and a high level of political dialogue, create a basis for developing energy cooperation.

The sides reviewed the situation in both countries regarding energy production, exports and supply.

They also assessed opportunities for cooperation in the oil and gas sector and in renewable energy.

The importance of signing a memorandum of understanding on energy cooperation between the relevant ministries of Azerbaijan and Jordan and establishing a working group to determine promising areas of cooperation was noted.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the situation in global energy markets.
