International expedition uncovers multiple entrances to Azykh cave

It has been determined that the Azykh cave consists of several entrances, and the exploration of the cave in a new direction has begun by entering through the second entrance, Report informs.

This information was provided when the leadership and representatives of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the Ministry of Science and Education were viewing the archaeological excavations carried out by an international expedition in the Azykh cave.

President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education Ulkar Sattarova, Head of the Science, Higher and Vocational Education Department of the Ministry of Science and Education Turkhan Suleyman, and others toured the excavation sites in the Azykh cave and received detailed information about the ongoing research.

Speaking about the meetings held in recent years with the members of the Azykh international expedition at the ANAS Presidium, Academician Isa Habibbayli stated that the composition of foreign scientists participating in the archaeological excavations this year has been expanded, and important scientific results have been achieved.

Emphasizing the importance of publishing scientific articles reflecting the results of the research in prestigious international scientific journals, Academician Isa Habibbayli noted that joint scientific expeditions are significant in terms of expanding integration in the field of science and education.
