The current state of the Caspian Sea's ecology causes serious concern among the Caspian littoral states and requires a unified approach to solving environmental problems, Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at the III Caspian Economic Forum in Tehran.
"The issue of the Caspian Sea's shallowing was comprehensively discussed at the VI Caspian Summit of our heads of state. President Ilham Aliyev initiated the creation of an expert group to study the causes and find solutions to prevent shallowing," said Asadov.
He expressed hope that all necessary agreements that will allow organizing the first meeting of the working group in Baku will be completed soon.
