Azerbaijan may create climate information subsystem

A climate information subsystem may be created in Azerbaijan, Report informs.

The issue is reflected in the new draft law "On Climate," which has been submitted for public discussion by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

According to the document, the information system will ensure a unified electronic exchange and analytical processing of reporting related to the monitoring, accounting and verification of emissions, the national inventory, the carbon registry and carbon projects, as well as the accounting of climate finance and adaptation measures.

The climate information subsystem will provide electronic data submission, automated verification, archiving, change history storage, statistical analysis and reporting.

The creation and operation of the climate information subsystem will be carried out in line with the regulations on the Digital Ecology information system.
