Winners of international youth AI competition announced at WUF13 in Baku

Today, the International Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) was successfully concluded in Baku.

According to Report, the project, dedicated to the theme Sustainable, environmentally friendly, and reintegration-oriented cities of the future, attracted significant global interest.

The project was jointly organized by the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum and the International Organization for Migration, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Young Volunteers Public Union.

More than 300 young people from over 70 countries applied to participate in the project, which began four months ago.

Participants from 36 countries who passed the selection stage attended month-long online training sessions on artificial intelligence tools and digital storytelling conducted by experts. After successfully completing the training program, participants created short videos using AI technologies to present their visions of sustainable and livable future cities.

The submitted creative works were evaluated by AI experts and independent specialists, and four of the best videos that met the project requirements were selected as winners.

According to the competition results, young participants representing Tunisia, Kazakhstan, and the Comoros Islands won first, second, and third places respectively. A young specialist representing Vietnam received the encouragement award.

The in-person phase of the project began on 18 May 2026 with a parallel event titled Youth-Developed Artificial Intelligence Solutions for Climate-Resilient and Environmentally Friendly Cities of the Future, organized as part of the Urban Planning Campaign Week.
