Speaking about his visit to the liberated lands, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev moved to tears, Report informs.
The president said that on the way to Karabakh, he and Mehriban Aliyeva made videos, first of all, for Azerbaijanis from that region: "When we first went to Shusha, we left Baku in the morning, because the road was too far. Along the Victory road, it took us nearly three hours from Fuzuli to Shusha. The roads were covered with snow and ice. So we went out early in the morning. It was yet dark and as the day broke, there emerged a beautiful scene and Mrs. Mehriban filmed it on her mobile phone. She filmed me and I said that 'we are heading for Shusha.'
"This is how it started. Before that, there were Aghdam and other areas. This was a private initiative. Because my visits are usually publicized by the official staff. Usually, official meetings, speeches, etc. This was a new approach. I know many people liked it. We also liked it. By uttering those words, the first thing that came to my mind was the people, who lived in those areas. I said those words for them in the first place. Because they had been longing for their homes for 30 years. And I came there, I saw that house, that building, but they did not see them. They had to see it through our eyes. They were always in front of my eyes. They suffered a lot, but they stood firm. This is what Azerbaijan is! This is what the people of Azerbaijan are!” said Ilham Aliyev.
