On November 1, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Basgal-Sulut highway in the Ismayilli district, which starts from the 17th kilometer of the Mughanli-Ismayilli highway,
Chairman of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads Saleh Mammadov briefed President Ilham Aliyev on the work done.
He noted that the construction of the Basgal-Sulut highway was carried out under the Order signed by President Ilham Aliyev in July 2020. The two-lane road connects 11 settlements with a population of 4,000. The length of the highway connecting the villages of Basgal, Gichatan, Tahglabiyan, Kalfaraj, Zayva, Kurduvan, Khankandi, Muju, Sarsura, Kalazeva and Sulut is 30.1 km, and the width of the carriageway is 6 meters. Four bridges have been built on the road and the necessary road infrastructure has been created.
The head of state was informed about the work carried out on the Hajihatamli-Gideyli-Kurd Eldarbayli highway in the Ismayilli district.
As noted, the 13-kilometer road was unusable for a long time due to natural factors. At present, the road has been reconstructed per modern standards. The road, built following the Order of President Ilham Aliyev, will facilitate traffic between three settlements with a population of about 4,000 people and contribute to the development of agriculture, especially viticulture. The president was also informed about the construction of the Muganli-Ismayilli-Gabala road.
