Birth rate rises in Azerbaijan in January 2025

In January 2025, Azerbaijan registered 8,557 births, according to the Ministry of Justice's district (city) registration departments, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

This represents an increase in the birth rate, rising from 9.7 to 9.9 per 1,000 people. Of the newborns, 54.6% were boys and 45.4% were girls. Additionally, 352 babies were twins, and 12 were triplets.

In the same period, the country recorded 5,727 deaths, showing an increase from 6.4 to 6.6 per 1,000 people compared to January 2024.
