The investigation commission continues a detailed examination of the damage to the structures of the Embraer-190 aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) that crashed near Aktau airport, Report informs.

According to the preliminary report submitted by the Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport, initial examination of the preserved fragments revealed multiple holes and non-penetrating damages of various sizes and shapes in the rear fuselage, vertical stabilizer and horizontal stabilizer, elevator and rudder.
Similar damage was found on the aircraft's left engine and left wing, as well as on the aircraft's units and components. In some places, the damage has a regular rectangular shape.
A passenger aircraft belonging to AZAL, operating the Baku-Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25. Of the 67 people on board, 38 died and 29 survived.
According to preliminary information, the aircraft crashed as a result of physical external interference that occurred in Russian airspace over Grozny.
