Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov urged journalists not to hesitate to cover any problems they encounter at the polling stations, Report informs.
He noted during his briefing at the CEC about the start of the elections that there may be some minor shortcomings as the election process involves millions of people:
"I appeal to media subjects and journalists not to hesitate to cover any problems you encounter in the stations. On the contrary, we will appreciate it. Also, international and local observers should be active."
He emphasized that no one can influence the voter's will: "The job of our institution is to ensure the voter's constitutional right. In this regard, no one can influence the voter's will and hinder the work of the members of the commission operating at the polling stations. Because they also work for the transparent conduct of the election process."
Panahov said that serious measures will be taken against any step that violates the requirements of the Election Code.
