The tourism potential of Nakhchivan is very rich, but the scarcity of hotels and their lack of high standards hinder the development of tourism, President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with Azerbaijan Television in Nakhchivan, according to Report.
"Nakhchivan's tourism potential is very rich: it features historical monuments, beautiful nature, clean air, and picturesque landscapes. Unfortunately, however, the scarcity of hotels and their lack of high standards hinder the development of tourism," the head of state said.
He noted that the foundation stone of a new five-star hotel was laid in the city center, which will likely be ready around 2028.
