Hikmat Hajiyev: Azerbaijan will not accept existence of any gray zone in its territory

Azerbaijan will not accept the existence of any gray zone in its territory, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmat Hajiyev told journalists, Report informs.

According to him, Armenia, without agreeing with Azerbaijan, brought various trucks to the Lachin border checkpoint for the purpose of populism: "Yesterday, some corrupt European politicians under the influence of the Armenian lobby also came to the border of Azerbaijan as part of this theatrical drama. Such steps do not make any sense. It is necessary to solve real issues on the spot instead of taking such showy steps. Azerbaijan will not accept the presence of any gray zone in its territory. Some people think that they will continue the status quo, live in this separatist status, and ensure the existence of this illegitimate regime, but this will not happen.

"Azerbaijan will not tolerate this under any circumstances. The main purpose of their false humanitarian shows is to hide their true intentions and character. The real intention is to ensure the existence of the so-called illegal regime created by Armenia in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, and for this purpose, they use various excuses."

"The representatives of the international community and the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan see that a policy of false propaganda is being conducted here. Unfortunately, some Western media disseminate false facts. In this process, some corrupt Western politicians are playing their role, and we see the tendency of them to support separatism and divide the separatists into 'good' and 'bad' ones, which are also unacceptable.

The opening of the Aghdam-Khankandi road and its existence and functionality have been reflected in relevant international statements. Armenia's own leadership also accepted the existence and possibility of using this road at the Brussels meetings. However, they denied it in the following steps. As the next component of this process, the Lachin road can be opened in the next days, within 24 hours, that is, within certain conventional times. The factor of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan is very important in opening the road to Lachin. At the same time, they must be ensured by fully complying with the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and relevant laws related to border control and border security, as well as customs regime rules. Whoever thinks that illegal weapons transportation will be carried out in these ways, this era is already over," he added.
