Baku: Representatives of Armenian population of Karabakh violated all agreements at last moment

Representatives of the Armenian population of the Karabakh Economic Region of Azerbaijan violated all agreements at the last moment, Spokesman for Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry Aykhan Hajizada said commenting on an article published in Russia's Kommersant newspaper.

He said that as a result of the efforts of international partners in the last few days, an agreement was reached on the use of the Aghdam-Khankandi road by the ICRC for cargo transportation and the intensification of passage along the Lachin Road under the auspices of the ICRC 24 hours after that.

"In addition, at the suggestion of Azerbaijan, it was agreed to hold a meeting in Yevlakh between representatives of the Azerbaijani side and the Armenian population of the Karabakh Economic Region of Azerbaijan, and all preparatory logistical measures were taken in this regard.

Despite all these agreements, representatives of the Armenian population of the Karabakh Economic Region of Azerbaijan violated all agreements at the last moment."

He said the destructive behavior from their side and from the side of Armenia, which turned this topic into an instrument of political manipulation, once again demonstrated that the opposite side is not interested in peace and stability, as well as in dialogue in this direction.

"In addition, these steps once again confirm the unfounded fabrications about humanitarian issues and serve to aggravate the situation in the region," Hajizada said.
