An event on 28 May – Republic Day was held in Nuuksio National Park, Espoo, Finland.

Report informs that the event was held under the rules of the condition of the pandemic.

Along with Azerbaijanis, representatives of the local community, members of the Turkish community, businessmen, and active youths attended the event.

The event started with playing of Azerbaijan’s state anthem. Ulviyye Jabbarova, Coordinator of the Coordination Council of Scandinavian Azerbaijanis and Head of the Azerbaijani-Turkish Youth Organization of Finland, informed the guests about the history of 28 May – Republic Day.

An Azerbaijani Nazrin Nasibova spoke about this historical day and noted that Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) came to light as a logical result of socio-economic, public-political processes and cultural development, the national revival of our people.

As a founder of independent Azerbaijan State, Heydar Aliyev founded the idea of national statehood. Today, Azerbaijan’s authority n the world is increasing day-by-day thanks to President Ilham Aliyev’s policy.

At the same time, a statement of protest on the so-called oath-taking ceremony held in Shusha, an Azerbaijani city occupied by Armenia 28 years ago, was adopted at the event. The statement is planned to be sent to offices of international organizations and the UN in Finland.

Moreover, Samad Vurgun’s “Azerbaijan” poem and Muslum Magomayev’s “Azerbaijan” song were played.
