Exhibition 'Disappearance' opens in Baku

Baku. 5 November. REPORT.AZ/  The contemporary video and photography group exhibition "Disappearance” is opening on November 5, 2018 at the Cultural Center named after Ibrahim Abilov within the framework of the cultural heritage festival Fantazia, organized by the European Delegation in Azerbaijan, on the occasion of the European Year of Cultural Heritage of 2018.

'Disappearance' exhibition project brings together artists from across the world with different artistic background and working with various techniques of contemporary visual art, but all driven by the cultural heritage protection and conservation idea explicitly embodied in their exhibited art pieces.

Photo series “Baku Black City, White City” by Onno Kervers from the Netherlands showcasing multidimensionality of Baku architectural heritage will be demonstrated as part of the exhibition.

It may be no accident that Ibrahim Abilov Cultural Center edifice, a great historical and architectural asset constructed in 1835, was deliberately selected as the project venue.

The first festival Fantazia is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage in Baku and Azerbaijan.
