UN Pre-COP29 climate conference kicks off in Baku

UN’s Preliminary Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (Pre-COP29) has commenced in Baku.
According to Report, the conference is themed “Strengthening Ambitions and Ensuring Action.”
The opening ceremony was attended by Mukhtar Babayev, COP29 President-designate, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, President of COP28, Amina Jain Mohammad, UN Deputy Secretary General, Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and Nabeel Munir, Chairman of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI).
The event will feature panel discussions on strategies for achieving successful outcomes at COP29. The conference will last until October 11.
