Azerbaijan sharply increases canned fish imports from China

In January–September of this year, Azerbaijan imported 3,379 tons of ripe or canned fish (+31%) worth $9.9 million (+12.4%) from foreign countries, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 1,164 tons of products (+83 times) worth $3 million (+13.3 times) from China, 1,149 tons (-22%) worth $2.5 million (-44%) from Russia, 224.4 tons (-20%) worth $1.7 million (-10%) from Türkiye, 344.8 tons (+2.4%) worth $1.1 million (+1%) from Latvia, and 137.5 tons (+23%) worth $443,400 (+33%) from Belarus.

Of the 3,787 tons of canned fish imported to Azerbaijan (from 27 countries) in 2022, 52% came from Russia and 15% from Latvia.
