Azerbaijan doubles imports of sunglasses

In 2023, Azerbaijan’s sunglasses imports doubled in quantity and rose 2.3 times in value compared to the previous year, Report informs, referring to the State Statistics Committee.

Thus, 1,405,127 sunglasses worth $3.3 million were imported into the country over the last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 1,375,516 (+2 times) sunglasses from China worth $1.8 million (+2.7 times), 12,743 units (+2.3 times) from Italy worth 1.14 million (+2 times), 559 units (+2.4 times) from Japan worth $140,000 (+2.5 times), 12,149 units (-22%) from Türkiye worth $53,000 (-27%), 74 units (-11%) from France worth $36,440 (+16%).

Azerbaijan resumed importing sunglasses from Malaysia, Georgia, and South Korea after years of hiatus. The imports include 48 units from Malaysia, valued at $680, after a 10-year break; 41 units from Georgia, worth $7,360, after 8.2 years; and 27 units from South Korea, totaling $770, after 2.8 years.
