Azerbaijan's tangerine imports doubled in 1H2024

Azerbaijan imported 11,000 tons of tangerines, valued at $7.8 million in the first half of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the imports rose by 2 times both in terms of volume and value.
From January through June of this year, Azerbaijan bought 7,854 tons (+58%) of tangerines from Türkiye worth $5.5 million (+56%), 2,474 tons from Cyprus worth $1.75 million (no supply a year ago), 305.5 tons (+2.3 times) from Egypt worth $240,400 (+2.4 times), 235.9 tons (-0.4%) from Pakistan worth $188,700 (-0.4%), and 86 tons from Georgia worth $60,200 (no supply a year ago).
Meanwhile, in 2023, Azerbaijan imported a total of 8,528 tons of tangerines from nine countries, of which 93.6 percent came from Türkiye.
