Azerbaijan's lamb imports rise more than threefold

Azerbaijan imported 58.03 tons of fresh, chilled or frozen lamb worth $233,300 in January-April 2026, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
This is three times more in value terms and 3.4 times more in volume than in the same period of 2025.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 58 tons of lamb worth $232,000 from Mongolia, up 5.7 times year-on-year in both value and volume terms. Azerbaijan also imported 0.03 tons worth $1,300 from Australia, which supplied no lamb to Azerbaijan in the same period last year.
In 2025, Mongolia accounted for 99.94% of the 325 tons of lamb imported into Azerbaijan.
