Azerbaijan resumes smartphone imports from Singapore

In January-October 2024, Azerbaijan imported 1,166,285 smartphones, valued at $326.2 million, which is 16% more in volume and 22% more in value year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased smartphones:

- From China: 917,995 units (+29%) worth $243.3 million (+30%);

- From Vietnam: 178,595 units (-21%) worth $62.3 million (+8%);

- From India: 65,146 units (-1%) worth $16 million (-21%);

- From the US: 3,210 units (+5 times) worth $3.6 million (+5 times);

- From Japan: 321 units (+7 times) worth $339,200 (+9 times).

Azerbaijan resumed smartphone imports from Singapore (59 units worth $65,900) after a 4-year and 8-month break.

In 2023, China accounted for 72.8% of the 1.3 million smartphones imported to Azerbaijan from 15 countries.
