Azerbaijan resumes polyethylene purchases from Switzerland

In January-September 2024, Azerbaijan exported 97,732 tons of polyethylene worth $109.5 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, this is 13% less in value terms and 18% less in quantity compared to the same period last year.
Azerbaijan sold 70,296 tons (+21% YoY) of polyethylene to Russia for $82 million (+10%), 9,197 tons (10 times more) to Belarus for worth $9.54 million (9 times more) , 8,331 tons (2.7 times more) to Ukraine for $7.95 million (2.8 times more), 4,907 tons (-85%) to Türkiye for $4.5 million (-83%), and 2,105 tons (100 times more) to Kazakhstan for $2.2 million (79 times more).
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 38,086 tons (-14%) of polyethylene worth $44.7 million (-17%).
Azerbaijan purchased 19,631 tons (-28%) of polyethylene from Iran for $20.7 million (-34%), 8,792 tons (+8%) from Saudi Arabia for $9.42 million (+1.6%), 4,072 tons (+27%) from Russia for $4.3 million (+24%), 1,121 tons (+13%) from South Korea for $2.95 million (+10%), and 1,744 tons (-22%) from the United States worth $2.72 million (-23%).
Azerbaijan resumed imports of polyethylene from Switzerland (41.3 tons worth $111,000) after a 1 year and 9 months break.
