Azerbaijan increases tobacco import costs by more than 16%

From January through August this year, Azerbaijan imported USD 62.533 million worth of tobacco and tobacco substitutes, up USD 8.72 million or 16.2% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
In the eight seven months, Azerbaijan's exports of tobacco and tobacco substitutes amounted to USD 5.852 million, which is USD 3.533 million (37.6%) less than 2020.
The imports of tobacco and tobacco industry substitutes accounted for 0.85% of Azerbaijan's total imports, and exports were responsible for 0.05% of total exports.
