The Azerbaijani government is considering the creation of new specialized courts for entrepreneurship, according to Gunduz Karimov, the head of the Legislation and Legal Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Report informs.
Karimov shared this insight during a conference held in Baku, titled "Constitution and Sovereignty - Development of Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan." The event was dedicated to Entrepreneurs Day and the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty.
"Documents on resolving disputes by the Arbitration Center under the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan are ready and will be submitted to the Ministry of Justice. Another issue that concerns entrepreneurs today is disputes with government agencies, disagreements, and the resulting proceedings. Especially after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, disputes between administrative bodies and entrepreneurs have increased. The workload of administrative courts created by the President's decree in 2019 has also increased," he noted.
The official further mentioned that the workload also affects quality: "In this regard, the creation of specialized courts is being considered. According to our information, approximately 40% of cases in administrative courts consist of tax, social payment, and customs disputes. To reduce this burden, it may be possible to create new, specialized courts for tax, social payment, and customs disputes. The opinion of entrepreneurs on this matter is very important."
