ADB reports 2-fold decline in tuberculosis, HIV patients in Azerbaijan

The number of people infected with tuberculosis in Azerbaijan has decreased two fold during the period from 2010 till 2020, Report informs referring to the Key Indicators for Asia and the Pacific by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
According to the document, 104 out of every 100,000 people were infected with the disease in 2021. However, in 2020 this indicator dropped to 58.
A 2-fold decrease in the number of people infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is observed. While in 2010, there were 0.08 HIV patients per 1,000 uninfected people, in 2020, their number dropped to 0.04.
According to the indicators related to malaria, in 2010, there were 0.2 malaria patients per 1000 people, while no figures were revealed for 2020.
