Baku TV has produced a documentary about the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane that crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, on December 25, 2024, during its Baku-Grozny flight.

According to Report, the documentary titled "J2-8243: The Last Flight" is divided into four parts. It explores the stories of those who lost their lives, the survivors, and those who came to their aid.

The first part, titled "Once Upon a Time", features the families of the chief pilot Igor Kshnyakin, assistant pilot Alexander Kalyaninov, and flight attendant Hokuma Aliyeva, who heroically died while displaying extraordinary professionalism during the plane crash.

The families of the crew members shared their insights about the high professionalism of the National heroes and their love for their work.

The second part, titled "Everything Will Be Fine", includes testimonies from passengers who survived thanks to the crew's efforts, as well as crew member Zulfugar Asadov.

In the third part of the documentary, titled "Aktau", members of the assistance group from Kazakhstan who arrived at the scene immediately after the crash, journalists, and witnesses of the accident shared their thoughts.

The fourth part, titled "How Did It Happen?", details the aftermath of the crash, how President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev interrupted his visit to Russia to return home and address the situation. In this part, experts, political analysts, and AZAL representatives provide further insights into the incident.

The documentary film also underscored the high-level awards given to the deceased and surviving crew members by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev, the professional medical services provided to the surviving passengers, and the state care.

The interviewees expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani state for this.

At the end of the documentary, it was highlighted that the investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing, with no official statement released yet.

The film was directed by Iman Majidov, with Kubra Uygun Sertdag serving as author and director, Bahruz Abbasov as cinematographer, and Arzu Safarova as chief producer.
