The fact that the Azerbaijani side returned 32 detained Armenians to the other side in exchange for two captive soldiers proves once again how much the country appreciates every soldier, Georgian political expert Giorgi Gogia told Report while commenting on the process of exchanging prisoners between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"It seems that the parties will soon sign a peace treaty. Diplomats of both countries are ready to reconcile their positions," he added.
The political expert said that with the signing of the peace agreement, Azerbaijan wants to strengthen the region and save Armenia from the quagmire.
Commenting on the exchange of prisoners, Georgian political blogger Giorgi Jakhaya talked about the release of Huseyn Akhundov, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, and assessed this step as 'the most important step taken towards real peace on the part of Armenia':
"This proves that you can find a common language if you want. What happened will end with a peace treaty."
According to Georgian political scientist Simon Kopadze, this news is the greatest news of the day: "The exchange of prisoners proves that serious steps have been taken towards peace. This step should be applauded."
