Russian grain exporters' delegation may visit Azerbaijan in May

A delegation comprising Russia's leading grain exporters is expected to visit Azerbaijan in May 2025, Report informs, referring to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture.
According to the ministry, Majnun Mammadov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture, held an online meeting with his Russian counterpart, Oksana Lut. During the meeting, the ministers discussed the current state of agricultural cooperation between the two nations, highlighting the dynamic development of collaboration in the agricultural sector alongside other economic areas.
Lut emphasized that agriculture remains a key area of bilateral cooperation and expressed Russia's strong interest in deepening ties in this sector as well as developing relations between business entities and businessmen of the two countries. She affirmed Russia's readiness to fully meet Azerbaijan's demand for grain products and underscored the importance of expanding collaboration in other agricultural fields, including fisheries.
Mammadov reiterated the significance of increasing trade turnover in agricultural products between the two countries, citing substantial potential for growth. He extended his gratitude to Lut for her active participation in COP29 held in Baku last November and invited Russian companies to take part in the upcoming Caspian Agro exhibition, the largest agricultural event in the Caucasus, scheduled for next month in Baku.
The meeting also addressed topics such as enhancing trade in agricultural and food products, transferring advanced agricultural technologies, implementing joint programs in education and research, and fostering cooperation in areas like plant breeding, seed production, digitalization, and animal disease control. Both parties explored new opportunities for collaboration and stressed the importance of maintaining regular dialogue to further strengthen relations in the agricultural sector.
