Official: Azerbaijan drafting a new state program to ensure food security

Azerbaijan is drafting a new state program to ensure food security, Balarahim Guliyev, the Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency, said at the 4th Agribusiness Development Forum held in Baku, Report informs.

Guliyev said the implementation of the 1st state program, covering the years 2019–2025, is already nearing completion: "I believe that the implementation of this program will be completed very successfully. The draft of the 2nd state program will soon be submitted for discussion by the country's public, entrepreneurs, and deputies of the Milli Majlis."

In addition, according to the agency official, new laws on animal and plant health, as well as a large number of regulatory, legal, and technical documents arising from these laws, are being drafted.
