Azerbaijan reveals volume of pork consumption

In 2023, the population of Azerbaijan consumed an average of 1,022 kilograms of pork meat and products per person, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
A total of 10,402 tons of pork meat and products were consumed in the country last year. As of January 1, 2024, 240 tons of reserves were created, and 95 tons of pork meat and products were lost during the year.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan had 10,737 tons of pork meat and products, of which 93.1% or 9,993 tons were imports, 4.6% or 492 tons were production, and 2.3% or 252 tons were remaining products from the previous year.
The share of pork consumption of the population of Azerbaijan in the total meat and meat products consumption was 2.4%.
