Resistance to technologies and innovations is reminiscent of the struggle against the ideas of Copernicus or Giordano Bruno, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Issues of the Presidential Administration, said at the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, Report informs.
"Today's Shusha Global Media Forum is dedicated to artificial intelligence. Every year, we try to choose the most important and relevant topics. Today, various discussions are taking place around artificial intelligence. Is this a threat or an opportunity? And I am not calling for a struggle against technologies here," said Hajiyev.
In his opinion, the struggle against technologies, innovation and novelty can be compared to the struggle against the ideas of Giordano Bruno or Copernicus.
"You see, the new generations will criticize us for this. They will perceive it as a fight against the ideas of Giordano Bruno and other thinkers, like a fight with windmills. At the same time, future generations will simultaneously condemn us for creating a concept that is impossible to control and creates uncertainty," said H. Hajiyev.
He emphasized that artificial intelligence "undoubtedly changes many things," including the attitude to religious beliefs and views.
