Teymur Hasanov: Azerbaijan's Gabala becoming part of global aviation map

Direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Gabala are of strategic importance in terms of integrating Azerbaijani regions into international transport and logistics corridors, Teymur Hasanov, operations director for airports of Azerbaijan, told journalists during a media tour as part of the launch of a direct flight from Abu Dhabi to Gabala, according to Report.

"This flight not only strengthens Gabala's position on the global aviation map, but also contributes to increasing the tourism, investment and logistics potential of the northwestern region of the country. We consider this route as part of a regional strategy for the development of international air traffic, as well as an element of a large-scale development concept that serves to strengthen Azerbaijan's position as a dynamic transport hub located in the very center of Eurasia," he said.
