Several people in Georgia have succumbed to the "swine flu" over the last two weeks.
Report informs citing Rustavi-2 that the patients who lost their lives had pre-existing health conditions and were not vaccinated against the virus. The majority of those affected are presenting with high fever that does not respond to medical treatment.
Doctors emphasize that antiviral treatment for swine flu is most effective within the first 72 hours of symptom onset. They urge patients to seek medical attention promptly and avoid self-medication, which can delay proper care and worsen outcomes.
With the peak of the virus's spread expected by the end of January, healthcare professionals are bracing for a challenging period ahead.
