Russian Foreign Ministry: 653 Russian citizens taken out of Gaza Strip

It was possible to take out 653 of the approximately 900 Russian citizens who asked for help from the Gaza Strip, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Report informs referring to Russian media.

“In total, 653 out of about 900 compatriots who asked for help were removed from the Gaza Strip. Some 553 people have already been delivered to Russia from Cairo on special flights of the Ministry of Emergency Situations,” reads a message on the Foreign Ministry’s website.

The next group of evacuated citizens, consisting of 28 Russians, arrived in Moscow on November 22. Another 82 people left the enclave through the Rafah border crossing on the border with Egypt.

The Foreign Ministry noted that the authorities of Egypt, Israel, Palestine and Qatar assisted in the evacuation of citizens.
