Over 40,000 illegal Afghan nationals arrested at Iranian borders

The commander of the border guard police of Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan has announced the arrest of 40,509 illegal Afghan nationals at the Iranian borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan, Report informs, citing IRNA.

Brigadier General Reza Shojaei told IRNA on Saturday that these foreign nationals were attempting to enter Iran illegally via the shared borders.

Shojaei emphasized that maintaining border security is a top priority for his border guard forces.
